Honoring the career and accomplishments of Bosco Tjan

On Friday, February 3rd, there will be a symposium in memory of Bosco Tjan, our colleague and friend.

The AIC

covers a wide range of subjects in Cognitive Science. To get a sense about what to expect, visit http://www.cogsci.uci.edu/~whipl/AIC/ where you will find programs for all prior 41 conferences, starting in 1976 (abstracts are available for all conferences since 1998). You will discover that the list of speakers reads like a "Who's Who" in Cognitive Psychology during the last half a century.

Conference Venue

The ANNUAL INTERDISCIPLINARY CONFERENCE will meet January 29 - February 3, 2017 in The Village at Breckenridge, Colorado http://www.thevillageatbreckenridge.org where the last AIC met. Breckenridge is an historic town at the foot of a spectacular mountain. It is a ski-in, ski-out facility located directly at the base of Peak 9, and it is just a 5 min walk from the shops and restaurants on historic Main Street.

Abstract Submission

Email your abstract to Zyg Pizlo. The deadline for submitting abstracts is September 30.

Registration

Registration is handled by the Purdue Conferencing Office. Regular registration is $220. Late registration (after September 30) is $280. Students pay half. Go to: http://www.conf.purdue.edu/AIC to register.

Schedule

Preliminary program is now available: AIC Program

The Conference will begin with a reception on Sunday evening, January 29, at 5:00PM followed by a half-session from 5:30-8:00PM. Regular sessions will meet from Monday (Jan 30) through Friday (Feb 3) at 4:00PM to 8:00PM; the rest of the day is free. After the session on Tuesday, there will be a banquet for participants and their guests.

Sereno Symposium

On Tuesday, January 31, there will be Sereno Symposium, titled "The Landscape of Human Cognition". The Symposium will consist of 6 talks.

Lodging, Travel

For AIC attendees, Studio Suites at The Village are $165 + $15 resort fee + 11.68% tax. One Bedroom Condos are $204 + fee + tax. Some more elaborate units are also available. To reserve accommodations at these vastly reduced rates, register for AIC-42. The group code will then be emailed to you. Use the group code to make reservations directly with The Village. Unused rooms in the AIC room block are returned to The Village at regular intervals, so book your accommodations as soon as possible. Many other hotels, restaurants, ski rental facilities, shops, and cross-country ski trails are all within a short walk. Breckenridge is two-hour drive from Denver International Airport; Under the AIC contract, The Village offers reduced prices for the Shuttle service from the airport, as well as reduced prices for ski rentals and lift tickets.
